Note: Oklahoma charges $25 by mail and $35 online (the $10 difference is a service fee for using the SOS Business Filing Services portal). Foreign LLCs pay $50 for either method. File Form FM0056 online through the Oklahoma SOS portal, by mail to 421 NW 13th Street, Suite 210, Oklahoma City OK 73103, or in person at the same address. Note: Oklahoma physically moved offices to 421 NW 13th Street, but some older guides still list 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd. (the prior address). The new registered agent must sign on the form.

How to change your registered agent in Oklahoma

Choose your new registered agent first.
Do not file the change form until you have a new agent lined up. The new agent has to consent to the appointment, and most states will not process the change without that consent in hand. If you let coverage lapse, the Oklahoma SOS can administratively dissolve your LLC.

You can file this online through the Oklahoma Secretary of State portal. The form requires your LLC name, the new agent name and address, and a signature. The new agent must consent to the appointment.

Pay the $25 filing fee.
Pay by credit card during the online filing. A small processing surcharge usually applies. Mail filings accept check or money order made out to the Oklahoma Secretary of State.

Notify your old agent.
Once the change is processed, your old agent's responsibility ends. If you are paying them an annual fee, cancel that subscription so it does not auto-renew. Most services prorate or refund the unused portion.

Verify the change in state records.
Search your LLC name on the Oklahoma SOS business search and confirm the new registered agent is listed. Processing typically takes 1 business day for online; 7-10 business days for mail; same-day in-person available for $50 extra, so check back after that window.
Important to know about Oklahoma
- Mail is $25; online is $35 (a $10 service fee added by the portal). Mail is the cheaper option if you do not need fast turnaround.
- Foreign LLCs pay $50 regardless of filing method.
- You cannot change the registered agent through your annual certificate alone - the change requires a separate FM0056 filing with its own fee.
